The TAB Everest 2025 Preview

What is The TAB Everest 2025?
The TAB Everest is Australia’s biggest success story when it comes to new horse races. It is held annually in October at Royal Randwick Racecourse in Sydney.
Everest History
First run in 2017, it quickly became established as the race of the Spring in Sydney. It is now worth a staggering $20 million AUD making it one of the richest turf races in the world.
Group 1 Status
The Everest is an Australian Turf Club Group 1 Weight for Age Thoroughbreds race. This classified as Special Conditions class but in 2024 the race was granted Group 1 status.
Slot Holders
There are 12 slots available and 4 reserve spaces. This is to ensure that for those who invest in buying a slot have the best chance of getting a runner and not having to scratch and miss out on some very large prize money.
Everest Qualifying
The race is a 1,200-metre sprint and is unique in that it features slot owners i.e. individuals or companies who purchase a spot to run a horse in the race.
They then select the horse they want to represent them or sell it or lease it out to any interested parties who feel they have a horse which might run well in the race.
Everest Festival
This innovative approach has helped the race gain huge popularity especially as it the Sydney Autumn Carnival is now known as the Everest Carnival.
The Barrier Draw
In the build up to the race you can expect plenty of drama and excitement. Racing NSW has made the barrier draw into one of the most entertaining anywhere on the planet for a horse race!

The Latest Odds for the TAB Everest 2025
The early future’s market has the Hong Kong runner Ka Ying Rising as the $2.50 favourite. With some stunning performances at home this is justified but doubts remain as to whether Aussie trainer David Hayes will send his runner over for the race.
Private Harry
Private Harry has already been selected and is $7 with TJ Smith winner Briasa next at $7.50. The popular Joliestar is at $9 and former winner Giga Kick can be got at $15.
Other Runners
Others to mention at odds include Magic Time and Overpass both at $26. As we get nearer to race time and slot holders start talking about which runner they might pick the odds will keep fluctuating so be sure to keep an eye on the market.
Tips for the TAB Everest 2025
The Pickabookie.com.au early selection is Jimmysstar. This runner tends to get back in his races and needs plenty of speed up front. In a race like the Everest there could well be plenty of pace and a hot tempo upfront which would bring Jimmysstar into contention. Currently with odds of $15 this is worth a bet as if he doesn’t run you will get your money back.
